Metal value is not the same as retail price
Joyeros's valuation covers the metal content of your pieces: weight times purity times the reference price. It's a useful figure for buying decisions, reviewing what your inventory is worth or negotiating with suppliers, but it is not the retail price of the jewelry or a realized gain.
Because every purchase keeps the metal price from its own day, you can compare without losing the history: what you paid stays on record, and the valuation updates as the spot price changes.

Frequently asked questions
How is the metal value of a piece calculated?
The piece's weight is multiplied by its purity to get its pure content, and that content is multiplied by the metal price per gram.
What is appreciation in Joyeros?
It's the difference between today's metal value and the piece's historical cost. It shows how the valuation has changed since you bought it.
Why is the gold price saved at purchase?
So each piece's cost doesn't depend on today's price. That way you can compare what you paid with what the metal is worth now.
Is the valuation the price I should sell at?
No. The valuation only covers the metal. A retail price also includes labor, stones, design and your margin.
Which currency is the spot price shown in?
In the currency set for your business, such as Mexican pesos or US dollars.
